The College of Law, under the supervision of the continuing education department, held a seminar entitled (The Role of Financial Institutions in Combating the Financing of Terrorism), by the assistant lecturer Haider Jassim Muhammad Hussein Hanoon on Wednesday, corresponding to 16/06/2021, and was attended by the Dean of the College and a number of faculty members.

The researcher explained that there is a relationship between terrorism operations and their financing, in a way that it is unbelievable for terrorism organizations to achieve their financial goals for providing logistical means, whether in terms of acquiring weapons and explosives, or transportation, as well as training their members. Therefore, terrorist organizations seek Always to diversify its sources, and this is through the establishment of investment projects in various fields. 

Whether these projects are carried out in a legitimate way, or from illegal projects, through the use of money laundering methods obtained from those illegal projects, as well as receiving sums of money from various associations or entities that support them. This is done through the transfer of funds through financial institutions, including banks.
