The Clinical Pharmacy and Laboratory Sciences Branch at the College of Pharmacy, under the supervision of the Continuing Education Division, held a seminar about the Principles of Computer-Aided Drug Design,  presented by one of the college members, Asst. Prof. Dr. Zaid Mahdi Jaber Al-Obaidi. The event was attended by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy , a number of the college members and staff.

The seminar included the benefits and obstacles of this type of design as well as the latest research developments in this regard.The lecturer indicated that, in addition to the fact that computer-aided drug design is used globally, mainly in the synthesis of new drugs, it is also now used in the projects of postgraduate students of pharmacy colleges in Iraq for related topics.

World literature indicates that computerized drug design reduces material losses by half compared to the traditional methods.
