The College of Pharmacy at Al-Kafeel University Holds a Seminar Entitled: Antimicrobial Resistance: An Emerging Concern to Humanity

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Kafeel University, Prof. Dr. Nawras Muhammad Shahid Al-Dahan, and in concurrent with the World Antibiotic Awareness Week, based on the university’s strong believe in its role in serving the community, the Clinical Pharmacy Branch at the College of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Division at our university, held a seminar entitled

Antimicrobial Resistance: An emerging concern to humanity, in which Prof. Dr Mohamad Al Rakabi, one of the academic members of the College, conducted the lecture. In the presence of the dean of the college of pharmacy and his assistants as well as a number of the academic members and staff.     

The professor spoke about the importance of preserving antibiotics and not using them irresponsibly, whether by medical staff or the general public. One of the main objectives of the seminar is to raise the level of awareness and understanding about antimicrobial resistance through communication and education, emphasizing on the keenness in dealing with antibiotics, which is a comprehensive message that Antibiotics are a valuable resource that we must deal with properly.

Al-Kafeel University was distinguished for its keenness to hold this seminar in concurrent with the Scientific Week for Antibiotics for the purpose of spreading awareness and how to rationally use antibiotics by the general public to reach the post-antibiotic stage.
