The College of Medical and Health Technologies at Al-Kafeel University organized a Seminar on Methods of Laboratory Diagnosis of Viruses, presented by Asst. Lecturer Alia Hussein Jamil Al-Mousawi, and the Asst. Lecturer Roaa Muhammad Jassab on Sunday 26/12/2021, in the presence of the students in the Molecular Biology Laboratory.

The seminar aimed to introduce students to some types of pathogenic viruses and the methods of dealing with them in the laboratory and to identify the most prominent modern methods adopted in diagnosis, including:

1. Direct methods: Electron Microscope, PCR, Detection of viral antigen, Detection of viral nucleic acids.

2. Indirect methods: detection of antiviral antibodies in serum.

During which the students' queries were answered.
