Psychological Stress of Medical and Educational Staff".. Quality Lecture by University of Manchester Professor

   The College of Medicine at University of Alkafeel organized a high-quality scientific lecture on the psychological stress faced by the medical and educational staff, on the morning of Sunday, November 20, 2023, lasting for two days. The first day was dedicated to teaching students the communication skills with real-life simulations in this field, followed by a theoretical and practical workshop using the small group learning method. This was part of the early development program for clinical and professional skills adopted by the college, aiming to enrich the students' capabilities early in their curriculum, enabling them to support their professional abilities in the future, which will positively reflect on the educational aspect. The second day was for the teaching staff, delivered by Prof. Dr. Sarmad Nadeem, a consultant psychiatrist residing in the United Kingdom and a faculty member at the College of Medicine, University of Manchester. The lecture was attended by the Rector of University of Alkafeel, Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, the Head of the Higher Education and Scientific Research commission at the Holy Al-`Abbas Shrine , Prof. Dr. Abbas Rashid Al-Musawi, the Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Samer Maki Al-Hakak, and vice-dean for administrative  affairs , Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Najah Al-Awadi. The lecture covered essential topics such as understanding psychological stress and how to deal with it, highlighting the stress factors affecting the quality of work and outcomes. The session also explored ways to manage the psychological pressures faced by medical or educational staff, identifying sources and variables that affect them negatively or positively. The lecture opened the opportunity for discussion and answering inquiries.
