The lifelong Learning Center at university of Alkafeel , in collaboration with the College of Medicine, organized a training course: "Fundamentals of Medical Education" on Monday, October21,2024. The course was attended by the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, and Prof.Dr. Nawal Ayed Al-Mayali, vice-rector for scientific affairs. The course, delivered by Prof.Dr. Hilal Bahjat Al-Safar, will last for four days for twelve hours.
According to Dr. Al-Safar, the course aims to develop the teaching skills of faculty members in medical education and covers several key topics : adult learning theories, modern teaching methods and how to transform lectures into interactive sessions. The course also addresses principles of assessment, examinations, and providing feedback, with the goal of enhancing the teaching competence of the teaching staff to deliver information to students using the latest educational techniques.
Dr. Al-Safar emphasized that this course is part of the vision of the university to achieve excellence between Iraqi universities and to keep pace with global developments in medical education. He pointed out that developing faculty capabilities is a fundamental step in supporting this direction.
