As a policy of its ongoing efforts to advance medical education in accordance with international standards, the College of Medicine at University of Alkafeel conducted the final clinical skills exam for third-year students on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, to use the “ OSCE” system, one of the most advanced and accurate systems for assessing the clinical competency of medical students.

    The exam covered a series of diverse practical stations carefully designed to simulate a realistic medical work environment and measure the skills of the students  in clinical examination, patient communication, diagnosis, and medical decision-making in a specific time limit for each station, ensuring comprehensiveness and fairness in the assessment.

   The exam was conducted under the direct supervision of the scientific committee at the college , with the participation of faculty members, and in coordination with technical specialized and nursing staff. The clinical halls were equipped with the latest simulation and assessment tools, which reflects the commitment of the university to the highest standards of academic and professional quality.

    Dean of the College of Medicine, Asst. Prof. Dr. Samer Maki Al-Hakak, stated on this occasion that adopting the OSCE system for final exams shows the strategy of the college to graduate doctors who possess the skills and readiness to compete in the medical labor market. He noted that this assessment approach enhances community confidence in the medical outputof the university.

    Students expressed their appreciation for this distinguished educational experience, emphasizing that it provided them with a realistic opportunity to test their clinical abilities in a comprehensive and professional manner and better prepared them for the advanced clinical stages of their academic careers.

   This step is part of a comprehensive strategic plan adopted by University of Alkafeel to develop its curricula and educational methods in line with the latest internationally recognized medical systems and the aspirations of healthcare institutions in Iraq and the region.
