To proceed with ministerial program to qualify university leaders and personnel , Al-Kafeel University continues to implement its qualitative academic plans. The Center for Lifelong Learning , in collaboration with the Al-Kafeel Centre for Translation at Holy Al-AbbasShrine, organized a specialized translation qualification course, delivered by Prof. Dr. Haider Ghazi Al-Moosawi , director of Al-Kafeel Centre for Translation and head of Languages Unit at University of Alkafeel , and attended by a number of professors and university staff.
    The course addressed the importance of fathoming the linguistic functions when dealing with religious texts and the necessity of rendering them into other languages in a manner that preserves their accuracy and doctrinal and cultural context, which ensures that the religious message is conveyed to the target audience without distortion or misconception of the meaning.
    For his own part, Prof.Dr. Haider Al-Mousawi emphasized that religious translation is not merely a linguistic conversion; rather, it represents an intellectual and spiritual responsibility that requires the translator to quip himself with comprehensive cognitive tools, high-level linguistic skills, and a deep cultural awareness. The professor elucidated that such courses aim to establish a base of professional translators capable of representing Islamic texts in international forums with professionalism and scientific accuracy.
   This course is one of a series of activities implemented by the university to develop the capabilities of faculty and academic staff, as part of a strategic vision to boost the quality of higher education and promote the level of institutional performance in Iraqi universities.
