The Curriculum Committee of the College of Medicine at University of Alkafeel held its regular meeting in the presence of the Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Samer Maki Al-Hakak; Dr. Mufid Azhar Abu Ghanim, Deputy Director General of the Najaf Health Department; and Prof.Dr. Hilal Al-Saffar, Advisor to the President of the University on Medical Education, a number of specialized professors and committee members.
During the meeting, a number of vital topics were reviewed to develop the educational process and raise its efficiency to keep pace with international academic standards.
The meeting also discussed updating the academic curriculum and completing the fourth-stage clinical training program, ensuring the practical experience of the students and honing their medical skills in line with scientific developments in the field of medicine.
The international agreements with prestigious global universities such as Michigan, Oklahoma, Sheffield, and Stanford were all elucidated and also certain mechanisms for the collaboration and the exchange of scientific and academic expertise were reviewed in details . Such would contribute to enriching the educational experience within the college.
The attendees stressed the importance of incorporating artificial intelligence technologies into the educational process and training students on their use. They also tackled global health issues and found the best ways to integrate them into the curriculum, a step that reflects the ongoing efforts of the college to keep pace with scientific developments and advance the level of medical education.
