Advancements in Anticoagulant Therapies: Exploring Impact on Transmissible Diseases

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Alkafeel, in collaboration with the Lifelong Learning Center, organized a seminar on Saturday, May 4, 2024,  "Anticoagulants," delivered by Asst. Prof. Amir Abdul Hussein Abbas. The seminar aimed to clarify the importance of anticoagulants in the medical field, along with discussing the impact of transmissible diseases on clotting factors in the body. The seminar focused on several key topics, including introducing the types of drugs used as anticoagulants and explaining their mechanisms of action within the body. It also addressed transmissible diseases that may affect clotting factors, such as Dengue fever, which is considered a common disease at present.

    Recommendations were provided during the seminar on how to use anticoagulants safely and effectively, along with discussing methods to control transmissible diseases that affect clotting factors. The lecturer also emphasized the importance of relying on reliable sources of animal products to ensure consumer safety and avoid the spread of diseases.
