The College of Pharmacy at University of Alkafeel organized a seminar : "Noise and Its Psychological Effects on Humans" on Monday, 25/11/2024, in Al-Balagi Hall. The seminar was presented by Asst .Lect. Rasul Hamoudi Hassan to shed light on the various effects of noise that surround us in the age of technological development, and how it can pose a threat to human mental health.
The seminar emphasized that noise in its various forms greatly affects mental functions such as concentration, memory, creativity, and decision-making, leading to a deterioration in mental and physical performance. The different types of noise were reviewed, and the scientific term and its antonym were discussed, in addition to the damage it causes and the different ways to recover from continuous exposure to it.
The importance of time management was also highlighted as an effective tool in mitigating these negative effects, and the lecturer referred to the Quranic evidence that supports the need to care for mental health and stay away from external pressures.
The seminar concluded with recommendations pertinent to the need to raise community awareness about the effects of noise and adopt ways to prevent and recover from it to enhance mental health and quality of life.
