In Devotion to Blood of Martyrs and for Belief in Sacred Defense Fatwa, University of Alkafeel participates in Fatwa activities

In a solemn, festive atmosphere, University of Alkafeel participated in the ninth edition of the Sacred Defense Fatwa Festival, organized by Holy Al-Abbas Shrine. This event commemorates the historic fatwa issued by the Supreme Religious Authority in Najaf in 2014 in defense of Iraq, its land, and its holy sites, and memorializes the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the homeland.

    The University of Alkafeel delegation was headed by the university president, Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, who takes pride in participating in this major national event, which embodies the values of loyalty and sacrifice and promotes the spirit of national unity.

    The festival activities began in the “Imam Hassan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) Hall” with a fragrant recitation of ayats from Glorious Quran, then playing of the Iraqi national anthem, the anthem of Holy Al-Abbas Shrineand in reverence and pride reciting Surat Al-Fatihah in memory of the souls of the righteous martyrs.

    The opening ceremony showed a large attendance : the Secretary-General of Holy Al-Abbas Shrine, Seid. Mustafa Murtadha Al-Dhia'uddin, prominent religious, academic, and official figures from various Iraqi governorates, and a group of families of the heroic martyrs, who gave a great colour to the event.

     In the ceremony were there moving speeches and documentary and artistic performances that showcased the heroism of the Iraqis who responded to the call of the nation and the supreme religious authority to create the epic Sacred Defense. The participation of University of Alkafeel affirmed its deep commitment to national and religious principles, its contribution to preserving Iraqi identity, and its pioneering role in boosting the values of science and knowledge, which are the cornerstones of building the modern Iraq.
