The Support for special needs office at the university of Alkafeel offers a range of provisions and support to students with special needs.

We offer ongoing advice and support from the application stage through to graduation. We can support and assist the student on a range of issues including: physical access, examination arrangements and additional learning support. We determine and implement accommodation via the Student with Special Needs Access Plan.

The support office welcomes enquiries from students who may have any of the following special needs or impairments.

1. Comprehensive Support Services

To ensure an inclusive environment, the Support Office provides dedicated services for various needs:

• Support for Mental Health Conditions: The university offers confidential counseling and psychological support through the Department of Psychological Guidance. Students have access to one-on-one therapy sessions, stress management workshops, and mental health resources to support their well-being throughout their studies.

• Assistive Technology for the Visually Impaired: Our libraries and computer labs are equipped with built-in accessibility computer systems. These include screen-reading software (e.g., JAWS/NVDA), text-to-speech tools, and high-contrast keyboards to ensure visually impaired students can access all digital learning materials.
  
  

• Support for the Hearing Impaired: The university maintains a policy of full inclusivity. While there are currently no enrolled students with hearing impairments, the university is fully prepared to accommodate such needs immediately upon admission. This includes the provision of sign language interpreters and professional note-takers, ensuring that future students with hearing difficulties can participate fully in lectures and academic activities.

• Academic Support for Learning Disabilities: Students with learning disabilities (such as Dyslexia, ADHD, or Dyscalculia) receive dedicated academic support. This includes extended examination time, alternative assessment methods, and individualized tutoring to ensure equal academic opportunities.
