On 26 June 2023 the university of Alkafeel received the ministerial committee , assigned by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research , for the purpose of opening a specialized research center for medical sciences and pure sciences at the university.

The Ministerial Committee was in reception of vice-chancellor for scientific affairs , Asst. Prof. Dr. Nawal Ayed Al Mayali.

     The ministerial team consisted of Prof. Dr. Lubna Abdel-Adhim Al-Bayati, Director of the DNA Research Center at the University of Babylon , as a chairperson , Prof. Dr. Alwan Muhammad Alwan from the University of Technology and Asst. Prof. Mustafa Kamel Othman from the University of Kufa.

     The scientific and research laboratories, specialized devices and the appropriate infrastructure are all observed and provide all the requirements for establishing a research center specialized in medical sciences and pure sciences.
