2023 - 11 - 20

Sponsored by the President of University of Alkafeel, Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, the Department of Psychological Guidance and Educational Orientation  organized a cultural Quranic symposium at the College of Medicine on the occasion of the blessed birth anniversary of Sayyida Zainab (peace be upon her) in collaboration with the Quranic Institute affiliated with the Holy Holy Al-`Abbas Shrine in Najaf, titled "The Quranic Vision on the Importance of Chastity and Modesty and its Manifestations in the Life of Sayyida Zainab (peace be upon her)" on Monday, November 20, 2023. The event was attended by the President of University of Alkafeel, Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, the vice-rector for scientific affairs , Asst. Prof. Dr. Nawal Ayed Al-Mayali, deans of colleges, heads of departments, and their staff. The Quranic symposium began with verses from the Holy Quran recited by the reciter seid. Ahmad Al-Zamili, followed by a lecture from Sheikh Zaman Al-Hasnawi, who emphasized the importance of chastity and modesty in the Quran as part of a Muslim's faith, filling the intellectual, psychological, and spiritual aspects of a person, especially in beliefs. Citing Imam Al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), "There is no faith for those who have no modesty," he highlighted that the Holy Quran presented models of righteous women, illustrating their behavior and qualities, including modesty. The absence of modesty will reflect on a person's behavior in this world, making them far from the conduct of a committed, believing individual, and this lack will result in clear loss in the hereafter. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever lacks modesty in this world will not win Paradise."
