As part of ongoing scientific and professional collaboration, the Scientific Committee of the Union of Pharmacists in Karbala, in cooperation with Acino Swiss Company, organized a scientific seminar: “ The Role of the Pharmacist in Treating Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease” held on Sunday, April 7, 2024, the seminar saw a large attendance from pharmacists in the region. It opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran and then listening to the Iraqi national anthem, followed by a reading of Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs. Dr. Ali GhaniAl-Maamari, representative of the Union of Pharmacists in Karbala, welcomed the esteemed attendees. Dr. Husnain ShakirMahmoud, head of the Scientific Committee from the College of Pharmacy at University of Alkafeel, delivered an outstanding scientific lecture, followed by a lecture from the pharmacist Muhammad Zuhair Al-Musawi of Acino Swiss Company. The seminar concluded with a successful scientific competition, ending with Dr. Haider Al-Haffar as a winner . At the end of the seminar, Dr. Issa Hamad, a pharmacist and member of the Scientific Committee, presented a Shield of Excellence to the representative of the Pharmacists' Union in Karbala, in appreciation of his dedicated efforts in serving the profession and his ongoing cooperation with colleagues. This seminar is part of the efforts to raise scientific awareness and health education among the pharmacist community and those interested in healthcare in the province.
