2024 - 04 - 17

The Department of Psychological Guidance and Educational Orientation at the University of Alkafeelorganized a session today, Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the university chancellery building to commemorate the crime of demolishing the graves of the Imams of Baqi (peace be upon them). The event was attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nawal Ayed Al-Mayali, vice-chancellor for academic affairs ,  the teaching and administrative staff and members of the university.

The session began with the recitation of verses from the Glorious Quran, recited by Sheikh. Mahdi Qalandar from the Institute of the Holy Quran , the Holy Shrine of Imam Abbas, followed by a speech by Seid. Ja'far Al-Marwaj. In his speech, Al-Marwaj explained the importance of considering mosques and sacred sites of prophets and righteous individuals as a part of Quranic culture, emphasizing the necessity of protecting them and expressing Quranic values that call for reviewing texts and sources to verify this Islamic culture as in the Holy Quran.

Al-Marwaj clarified that the Holy Quran urges the construction of mosques and their preservation as sanctities for Muslims, affirming that this culture reflects the values of coexistence and mutual respect among members of society.

Regarding the painful anniversary of the demolition of the graves of the Imams of Baqi (peace be upon them), Al-Marwaj certifies the importance of the firm standing against acts of extremism and destruction targeting the sacred sites of Muslims.

It is worth mentioning that the eighth day of the blessed month of Shawwal is considered the anniversary of the demolition of the graves of the Imams of Baqi (peace be upon them) : the graves of Imam Hasan Al-Mujtaba, Imam Ali ibn Al-Hussein Zain Al-Abidin, Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir, and the grave of Imam Ja'far Al-Sadiq, the son of Imam Al-Baqir (peace be upon them). This day serves as a reminder of the tragedy that occurred nearly a hundred years ago when the enemies and adversaries of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) destroyed these sacred graves, an event that evokes agony and sorrow in the hearts of believers.
