University of Alkafeel Hosting Final of FasaalCompetition for Programming and Artificial Intelligence

On Saturday, October 5, 2024, the University of Alkafeel hosted the final event of the " Fasaal ", sprout, Programming and Artificial Intelligence Competition, in collaboration with the Smart Planet Cultural Center. The event was attended by the Dean of the College of Technical Engineering at the University of Alkafeel, Asst. Prof. Ali Jassim Al-Amiri, and Dr. Ali Abdul Zahra, Director of the Information Technology Department, who expressed their support and encouragement for the participants.

     The competition featured children aged 10 to 15 years, competing to present innovative solutions to real-life problems using programming and artificial intelligence techniques. Engineer Taha Al-Saadi, the organizer of the competition, explained that " Fasaal "focuses on three main themes: "A Problem from My Home," "A Problem from My City," and "A Problem from My Country." He emphasized that each project presented by the children addresses a specific issue from these themes using modern technologies, including solutions in the fields of medicine, agriculture, and industry.

   In the same regard , Al-Saadi added : "The competition was launched for the first time in Najaf, in cooperation with the Green Programming Club, and targeted children from all Iraqi provinces. The competition succeeded in showcasing innovative models of technological solutions that reflect the participants' vision of improving their local reality."

    The University of Alkafeel, the host of the final event, expressed its strong interest and continuous support for such activities that enhance innovation and technical thinking skills for the young . The university also reaffirmed its commitment to hosting events that contribute to the development of scientific and technological capabilities for future generations, in line with its vision to promote technological education and societal advancement.

    At the conclusion of the event, the three competing teams, "A Problem from My Home," "A Problem from My City," and "A Problem from My Country", were honored. Prizes and certificates of appreciation were distributed to the winners, and all participants received certificates in recognition of their efforts and creativity.
