To improve the practical experiences of its students, the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology at the College of Medical and Health Technologies at University of Alkafeel organized a scientific visit to the main blood bank in Najaf Governorate, on Tuesday, 11/5/2024.

    The visit was headed by Asst. Lect.Majdaldin Jumaa Majeed, with the participation of a group of students from the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology. The activity aimed to inform students about the necessary laboratory tests conducted in the blood bank, in addition to learning about many practical aspects in this vital field.

    During the visit, students knew different departments and branches in the bank, and the nature of the work carried out through them, starting from the blood donation process, through separating blood components, conducting virus tests, and reaching the mechanism of preserving blood and preparing it for medical use.

   The Head of the Medical Laboratory Technology Department stressed the importance of this visit in linking the theoretical aspect with the practical aspect, which helps students acquire advanced scientific skills in the field of medical laboratory technology.

   The event also showed the importance of learning about the workflow in specialized health institutions such as the Blood Bank, which enhances their efficiency in their future field of work
