University of Alkafeel Celebrating International Day of Radiology to Open Highly Advanced laboratories

In the presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, Prof. Dr. Nawal Ayed Al-Mayali, vice-chancellor for academic affairs , Prof. Dr. Fadhel Ismail Sharad, Dean of the College of Medical and Health Technologies, and a number of academic figures and teaching staff.

    The Department of Radiology Technology at the College of Medical and Health Technologies organized a celebration on the occasion of International Day of Radiology, on Saturday, 9/11/2024, in the university gardens.

    The celebration occurred with a wide participation from students of the Department of Radiology Technology, under the supervision of the teaching staff in the department. This initiative aims to raise acumen of the importance of this vital specialty, as it plays a fundamental role in patient care. The event included introducing attendees to the latest devices used in the field: (X-Ray), tomography, resonance, and sonar, with the display of models and illustrative pictures of the most important of these devices.

    The activity also included an explanation of the potential risks when dealing with these devices, and educating students about the importance of following safety measures in the laboratories. Students were given the opportunity to learn about protection mechanisms and risk shields to prepare them for safe work in the future.

  Under the shade of the celebration, the university president and the dean of the college inaugurated the X-ray laboratory and the sonar laboratory, which include modern, highly efficient devices imported from reputable international sources. The opening of these laboratories supports the educational process for students and enhances opportunities for practical training on the use of these advanced devices.

   Prof.Dr. Aref Baron, Head of the Department of Radiology Technology, said: “This event solidifies acumen of the importance of the radiology specialty and its role in the life of the patients , and it also provides an advanced educational environment for students through the new laboratories”.

   The dean of the college stressed that the university strives to provide all necessary support to its students to qualify them with the best way to work in their field of specialization after graduation.
