In his speech at the opening of the conference, attended by members of the Administrative Board of Holy Al-Abbas Shrine , officials in the holy shrines, professors , employees of University of Alkafeel , and a group of official and academic figures, Dr. Al-Dahan mentioned that the conference was held in collaboration with the Universities of Toledo and Michigan from the United States, Al-Ameed University, and Al-Kafeel Specialized Hospital, and aimed to enhance the scientific and research movement and create a stimulating environment for researchers.
Dr. Al-Dahan stressed that University of Alkafeel relies on the vision of the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine , which focuses on developing the scientific and humanitarian aspects of academic education and commits to providing the latest technologies and academic requirements to be at the level of global educational institutions.
Then he talked about the educational advanced systems at University of Alkafeel: "Bologna Process" system, which gained the confidence of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to implement it to all private and governmental universities and colleges in Iraq. He also referred to the "Siraj" program that was adopted by the ministry, in addition to the "Smart University", which made University of Alkafeel the first Iraqi university fully dependent on electronic systems and renewable energy. Dr.Al-Dahan laid emphasis on that the university seeks to enhance international scientific collaboration through academic partnerships with prestigious universities such as (Michigan State) and (Toledo) in the United States and (Sheffield) in the United Kingdom, which contributes to achieving continuous scientific and research development. He added that the conference witnessed wide participation from researchers from all over the world, as 380 research papers were accepted out of 600 submitted research papers, with the participation of 35 international research papers from 15 countries, such as America, UK and Russia, in addition to Iraq, in which the Ministries of Higher Education, Health, Agriculture and Education participated. All the accepted research will be published in international Scopus-indexed journals at Scopus and Clarivate.
He concluded his speech by thanking the participating researchers from outside Iraq, and for the continuous support of seid. Ahmed Al-Safi, the legal custodian of Holy Al-AbbasShrine, for its scientific and cultural activities.
