In an atmosphere of joy and pride, the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali organized a celebration to honor academics who obtained the title of professorship in higher education institutions for their effective role in developing education and scientific research, on Sunday 12/1/2025.

    The celebration witnessed the attendance of Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan , rector of Alkafeel University, who was honored by the Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali, Mr. Issa Al-Khorasan, in appreciation of his distinguished contributions in the field of academic education. Professor Dr. Nawal Aid Al-Mayali, vice-rector for Scientific Affairs, was also honored on the occasion of obtaining the title of professorship, in addition to honoring Prof. Dr. Dhurgham Qasim Shahid, a lecturer at the College of Pharmacy at University of Alkafeel .

    The ceremony began with the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, then words of thanks and pride in the academic efforts of prominent scientific and religious figures occurred . In the speech of the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali, delivered by Mr. Mustafa Manaf, the importance of the role of academics in enhancing the status of higher education in Iraq was emphasized.

    His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by his advisor Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Al-Rubaie, also delivered a speech in which he indicated that honoring academics is part of the ministry policy to support and develop higher education in Iraq, and in appreciation of the high scientific level provided by academics in various Iraqi universities.

    Prof.Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan expressed his deep thanks to the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali for this generous gesture, indicating that this honor represents a great incentive for him and his colleagues to go further in the path of science and academic development.

    The ceremony concluded with the distribution of appreciation shields to the honorees, in an atmosphere of pride and appreciation for the contributions of scholars who continue to work for the advancement of education and scientific research in Iraq.
