University of Alkafeel in collaboration with Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate Holds First Course to Develop Capabilities of Industrial Pharmacists in Middle Euphrates Region

The College of Pharmacy at University of Alkafeel hosted a specialized training course to develop the capabilities of industrial pharmacists in the Middle Euphrates region, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed , Chancellor of the University, Asst.Prof.Dr. Dr. Saad Mashkoor Walid, Dean of the College, and the assistants, the Head of the Pharmacists Syndicate in Iraq, the Pharmacist Dr. Haider Fouad Al-Sayegh, and the Head of the Pharmacists Syndicate in Najaf, Pharmacist Dr. Ahmed Hussein Abu Souda, in addition to a group of academics and experts in the field of industrial pharmacy ,to qualify the first graduates from the colleges of pharmacy to work in pharmaceutical and industrial institutions.

   The organizers of the course confirmed that this initiative ran ion alignment with the vision of University of Alkafeel in observing its graduates and enabling them to engage in the industrial labor market, as part of serving the community and strengthening the partnership between academic education and the industrial sector. The participants praised the great support provided by the Chancellor of University of Alkafeel to make this event a success, which reflects the commitment of the university to developing national competencies and strengthening the pharmaceutical industries sector in Iraq.

   The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Asst.Prof.Dr. Saad Mashkoor Walid, in which he welcomed the participants and stressed the importance of this course in bridging the gap between academic education and the labor market, referring to the commitment of the university   to providing quality training programs that keep pace with the needs of the pharmaceutical industry sector.

    In this regard, the head of the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate delivered a speech in which he praised the efforts of University of Alkafeel in supporting the Pharmacists Syndicate by holding advanced training programs that contribute to raising the efficiency of graduates and qualifying them for the labor market, stressing the importance of continuing collaboration between academic and union institutions to advance the pharmacy profession in Iraq.

   Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hashem Al-Rifai also gave a comprehensive presentation in which he discussed the importance of the pharmaceutical industry and its pivotal role in achieving national drug security, highlighting the importance of holding professional specialized courses that enhance the industrial skills of pharmacists and open new horizons for them in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing.

After opening the session, the scientific lectures began to have a specialized lecture on the foundations of good pharmaceutical manufacturing (GMP), which included a detailed explanation of the globally approved quality and pharmaceutical manufacturing standards, in addition to discussing the challenges and practical applications to ensure the production of safe and effective medicines.

    The course received great interaction from the participants who expressed their appreciation for this initiative, considering it an important step towards building a generation of industrial qualifiedpharmacists, and a basic foundation for enhancing the role of Iraq in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.
