On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology at the College of Medical and Health Technology at Al-Kafeel University organized a scientific lecture : " Use of Botox and Hyaluronic Acid in Plastic Surgery and Neuromuscular Treatment: Between Reality and Fiction.
" The lecture was delivered by Asst.Lect.r Mithaq Faisal Yousef Al-Kanani, a faculty member in the department.
The lecture aimed to raise awareness among attendees about the uses of Botox and fillers in both cosmetic and therapeutic fields, highlighting the components and composition of these substances and explaining their effects on various body systems and organs.
The lecture included a detailed scientific explanation of the mechanism by which these substances work, as well as the challenges and risks associated with their misuse outside of medical supervision. At the conclusion of the activity, the lecturer recommended that the use of these substances be restricted exclusively to specialist doctors, warning against resorting to unlicensed cosmetic centers due to the serious health risks that may result.
