University of Alkafeel Council held its thirteenth session for the 2024-2025 academic year on Wednesday, 11 June 2025, chaired by Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, President of the University, and attended by Prof.Dr. Nawal Ayed Al-Mayali, vice-chancellor for academic affairs, the deans of the colleges and their assistants.
The session showed an extensive discussion on the ongoing preparations for the Imam Ali (peace be upon him) Conference, which is part of the Third International Imamate Seven Days . The scientific and cultural program was reviewed, and the general program details were also explained to ensure the organization of an event befitting the academic and religious status of Imam Ali (peace be upon him).
The meeting also tackled the scientific research that will be presented during the conference sessions, which is intended to shed light on various aspects of the life and thought of the Imam (peace be upon him). More enthusiastically , Dr. Al-Dahan emphasized the importance of meticulous professional and academic preparation for this event, noting that the university seeks, through this event, to enhance its purposeful academic mission and shed light on the scientific and intellectual legacy of the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), in keeping with the requirements of contemporary scientific research.
The International Imamate Seven Days Conference is one of the most prominent events organized annually by Holy al-Abbas Shrine. Having hosted by the university, it attracts researchers and thinkers worldwide as part of its ongoing efforts to consolidate authentic religious culture and connect it to contemporary academic reality.
