As part of the National Program for the Sustainable University Competition, University of Alkafeel received a delegation from the Field Follow-up Committee on Tuesday morning, July 22, 2025. The delegation was headed by the Director of Pioneering Projects Management Department at Research and Development Directorate in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and included representatives from the Ministry of Environment.

    The delegation was welcomed by the President of University of Alkafeel , Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, and vice-chancellor for scientific affairs , Prof.Dr. Nawal Ayed Al-Mayali. In the meeting , the strategy of the university to achieve sustainability and its efforts to create an environmentally friendly educational environment consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals was fully discussed .

    The visit included a tour round the university facilities : colleges, laboratories, and green projects. The delegation was informed about the practical applications that reflect the university awareness of the importance of environmental and institutional transformation. Committee members expressed their admiration for the advanced level on campus in several areas.

    Dr. Al-Dahan emphasized that University of Alkafeel sets the sustainability higher in its priorities and seeks to strengthen its partnership with government institutions to build a modern university that contributes to shaping the future through environmentally responsive and responsible education.
