In preparing to serve pilgrims commemorating the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), the Lifelong Learning Centre at University of Alkafeel organized a two-day specialized training workshop : "Life-saving Basics" on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in cooperation with the Deanship of the College of Medicine at the University and the Najaf Health Department.

    Dr. Mufid Azhar Abu Ghanim, Deputy Director General of the Najaf Health Department, presented the workshop and showed the most prominent first aid methods for dealing with critical cases. The practical aspect was presented by Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Hussein Al-Dhabhawi and there was a great interaction from participating students and staff.

  The workshop aimed to enhance the skills of the participants in dealing with emergency situations, particularly in the university mowkib , which provides services to pilgrims commemorating the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). This will contribute to boosting the level of preparedness and reducing emergency health risks.

    The workshop was attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Samer Makki Al-Hakak, Dean of the College of Medicine at the University, who laid emphasis on the importance of integrating theoretical training with practical application to enable staff to provide immediate medical assistance when necessary in the high-level waves of pilgrimage
