Under the guidance and sponsorship of the Alkafeel University Presidency, a number of university students participated in the medical station of the mowkib in Najaf Governorate. This is part of the ongoing efforts to serve pilgrims of Imam Hussein and his brother, Abu al-Fadhl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) during the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
The students were assigned to various medical and nursing duties: field services to pilgrims round the clock in coordination with the university health staff. Services cover certain areas: first aid, monitoring cases of fatigue and exhaustion, psychological and moral support for pilgrims coming from various Iraqi governorates and Islamic countries.
The organization of the medical stations pay much heed to the privacy of pilgrims , as there are separate stations for men and another for women, with the active participation of male and female university students. This contributed to the efficient provision of quality and organized services to both .
Such a participation is a practical embodiment of the university vision to promote social responsibility and integrate theoretical education with practical application, in addition to instilling a spirit of service and volunteerism among students during one of the greatest religious and humanitarian occasions in the world .
The supervisors of these stations emphasized that the presence of the students in the medical team contributed significantly to the speed of response and the diversity of specializations, demonstrating the competence of the university students in the fields of benevolence and consecration .
This initiative is part of a series of projects in the university strategy during the Arbaeen season, seeking to strengthen its community and national presence and instill noble human values in its students and personnel as well .
