University of Alkafeel held the first regular meeting of the Energy and Efficiency ISO Awareness Team to support energy conservation and emission reduction at the university on Saturday, October 26, 2025, chaired by Prof. Dr. Arif Saleh Baroun and attended by the team members.
The meeting aimed to identify the key points of the Energy and Efficiency ISO plan for the 2025-2026 academic year and discuss mechanisms for improving performance in the field of rationalizing energy consumption and enhancing operational efficiency in line with the sustainable development goals.
The meeting included a discussion of the standards for implementing the national initiative for approving the policy, objectives, and plans for supporting energy conservation and reducing emissions proposed by the University of Baghdad and submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with exploring the possibility of adopting them at University of Alkafeel and utilizing their provisions in preparing the university plan for the current academic year.
At the end of the meeting, the attendees recommended adopting the plan proposed by the national initiative in accordance with University of Alkafeel policy and in a way that contributes to enhancing energy efficiency and reducing emissions throughout the university.
