University of Alkafeel achieved a distinguished national accomplishment by ranking third for 59 Iraqi universities in the “Athar Award” for the National Initiative for Sustainable University, reflecting its firm commitment to promoting sustainable development practices and fulfilling its environmental and social responsibility according to the highest modern standards.
Such an achievement shows gratitude to the significant efforts the University President, Prof.Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, through practical plans and programs that ensure improved environmental performance on campus and raise sustainable awareness among students and faculty, contributing to resource protection and enhancing the quality of life.
The award ceremony was attended by the Minister of Environment, Dr. Hilo Al-Askari, and the undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahd, a select group of researchers, experts, academics, and those interested in environmental protection issues and supporting national initiatives that promote future sustainability in higher education institutions. The event was held in a celebratory atmosphere that emphasized the importance of institutional cooperation in achieving environmental goals.
