The Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies at the College of Medical and Health Technologies, University of Alkafeel , organized a scientific lecture on Sunday, 9 November 2025 : "Nano-Solar Cells: A Path Towards Sustainable Energy," presented by Prof. Dr. Arif Saleh Baroun.
The lecture aimed to introduce modern technologies in the field of sustainable energy and highlight the role of nanotechnology in improving the efficiency of solar cells in terms of light absorption and energy conversion, and to encourage scientific research and innovation in the fields of clean energy and future technologies.
The lecture included an explanation of the concept of nanotechnology, its history, and methods of preparing it physically, chemically, and biologically. It also reviewed its applications to various fields, particularly to improving the energy production efficiency and reducing costs. The lecture further addressed different generations of solar cells and recent developments in the field of nano-solar cells, considering them an important step towards achieving sustainable development goals and environmentally friendly energy.
