The Lifelong Learning Unit at the College of Dentistry organized a scientific lecture : “ Influenza Virus” on Monday, 10 November 2025. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Diaa Naji Hamza, to raise the scientific and knowledge level of faculty and students regarding the influenza virus, focusing on its types, modes of transmission, and modern methods of prevention, in addition to the role of medical staff in community health awareness.
The lecture covered the classification of influenza viruses, their mechanism of infection of the respiratory system, the most prevalent strains, and the latest diagnostic, treatment, and available vaccine methods. A fruitful scientific discussion occurred after the lecture presentation , focusing on the importance of awareness in reducing the spread of seasonal infections. Several faculty members attended the discussion.
There were several recommendations and findings : Emphasizing the importance of adhering to preventive measures to reduce infection, updating information about seasonal vaccines, encouraging students to participate in educational seminars and continuing to hold regular scientific lectures at the college.
