Lifelong Learning Unit at the College of Pharmacy, University of Alkafeel , organized a two-day training course : “Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Safety and Security.” The first session was held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, and the second on Sunday, 23 November 2025.
The training course was presented by Asst.Prof. Jawad Kadhim Al-Shams, Asst.Prof. Dr. Ali Jabbar Radhi, and Lecturer Noor Hassoun, and was attended by faculty and staff members of the college.
The course focused on introducing the fundamentals of radiological, biological and chemical safety and security in laboratories and scientific facilities. It highlighted preventive measures, risk management, and ensuring the safety of personnel and those who work in scientific work environments, and the proper handling of radiological, biological and chemical materials.
The course covered occupational safety principles and mechanisms for reducing potential risks in laboratories, including safe storage, transportation, and handling procedures for radiological, biological and chemical materials. The session witnessed significant interaction from participants, who emphasized the importance of such courses in promoting a culture of occupational safety in the academic institution.
