Lifelong Learning Unit at the College of Pharmacy , University of Alkafeel, organized a seminar |: “Health Risks of Microplastics in Food” on Wednesday, 19 November 2025.
The seminar was presented by Prof. Dr. Haider Kadhim Abbas, and attended by faculty members, staff, and students. Discussions focused on the impact of microplastics in food on human health.
The seminar addressed the negative effects of microplastics that may be present in food as a result of the intensive use of plastics in daily life. It reviewed the potential risks to vital organs in the body and presented the latest scientific studies on the impact of these particles on public health and ways to reduce the rate of their use .
The activity witnessed broad interaction from participants, who emphasized the importance of such seminars in raising health awareness among students and staff and promoting scientific knowledge in the field of food safety and protecting human health.
