On Monday, 24 November 2025, the Lifelong Learning Unit at the College of Dentistry, University of Alkafeel , organized a seminar : “Beyond Smoke and Illusions.” Asst.Lect. Saroor Mohammed Hadi highlighted the increasing prevalence of tobacco use among university students and the importance of early awareness campaigns to mitigate its health risks.
The seminar addressed the psychological and health risks of smoking and reviewed the mechanisms by which this phenomenon spreads in educational institutions. It also emphasized the role of faculty members and university activities in promoting a culture of prevention and encouraging students to adopt responsible, non-smoking behaviors.
The session recommended intensifying awareness programs and extracurricular activities that focus on public health and encourage students to adopt a healthy lifestyle, and to collaborate with psychological and educational guidance units to effectively implement anti-smoking programs and reduce harmful behaviors.
