The College of Medicine at University of Alkafeel organized a scientific lecture: "Artificial Intelligence in Clinical Microbiology," attended by second-year faculty members and students.
The lecture was organized with the Lifelong Learning Unit at the college and presented by Asst. Lect. Amir Mohammed . The main axes of the lecture focus on the role of artificial intelligence in increasing the accuracy and speed of diagnoses in medical microbiology laboratories , improving laboratory efficiency and reducing human error, thus contributing to enhancing the quality of healthcare and diagnostic services for patients.
The lecture addressed the genetic and epidemiological applications of artificial intelligence : disease diagnosis, infection control, vaccine development, and the diagnosis of COVID-19 and malaria. It also compared its effectiveness with traditional methods and highlighted the most significant challenges facing its practical applications.
Through these lectures, University of Alkafeel aims to enable students to keep pace with future developments in medical and laboratory practices and enhance their skills in making accurate clinical decisions, thereby contributing to improved treatment quality and enhanced professional performance within laboratories.
