University of Alkafeel  participated in the activities of the Third International University of Al-Ameed Conference on Medical Sciences, which commenced on Wednesday morning, 26 November 2025, at Al-Ameed University, under the auspices of the Holy Abbas Shrine, on slogan: "Integrating Medical Sciences in Service of Society." The conference cuddled wide participation from researchers and academics from inside and outside Iraq, in cooperation with University of Alkafeel  and Al-Kafeel Specialized Hospital.

          The opening session was attended by Prof. Dr. Abbas Rashid Al-Dada Al-Moosawi , Head of Education and Higher Education Commission at Holy Abbas Shrine, and a number of official and academic figures.

     The University of Alkafeel President, Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, also participated in the conference with the deans of the university and their deputies, affirming the university support for joint scientific and research collaboration.

    The opening ceremony included a recitation of certain ayats from Glorious Quran and the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah for the souls of Iraq's martyrs, then the national anthem and the anthem of the Holy Abbas Shrine , anthem of pride. There was a speech delivered on behalf of His Eminence Seid. Ahmad al-Safi, the Custodian of the Holy Abbas Shrine, by Dr. Abbas al-Dadda al-Moosawi . Then there was a speech from the President of Al-Ameed University, Prof. Dr. Jawdat Nouri al-Jash`ami.

     The program also included a video presentation reviewing Al-Ameed University and the opening lecture : "Metabolic Clash: Combination of Glucose Intolerance and Hypertension ," presented by Dr. Abdul Majeed Salmassi from the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London.

    This conference reflects the commitment of the Al-Ameed University to keeping pace with global advancements in medical science and strengthening academic and research collaboration with Iraqi universities, particularly University of Alkafeel University, to boost the scientific and research standards in Iraq.
