The College of Dentistry at University of Alkafeel organized an awareness workshop : "Internet Addiction," attended by a number of faculty members and students.
The workshop was presented by Asst. Lect. Zahraa Mohammed Alwan, who explained the concept of internet addiction, its types, and its effects on mental and physical health, in addition to addictive behaviors associated with the use of smart devices and social media.
The lecturer focused on time management and regulating the use of electronic devices to minimize their negative impact on academic performance and social life. Then there were practical guidelines for using digital devices safely and effectively.
The workshop concluded with a set of recommendations emphasizing the need to raise awareness about the dangers of excessive use of smart devices, encourage students to manage their time and set specific usage hours, and strengthen the role of psychological guidance in addressing cases of internet addiction.
