The College of Pharmacy at University of Alkafeel , in cooperation with the Najaf Health Department/Pharmacy Department, organized a scientific workshop : "Achieving Medication Safety and Its Role Patient Safety" at the Najaf Health Department on Monday, 15 December 2025.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Yahya Ibrahim Yahya, who addressed the principles of patient safety, types of medication errors and their causes, focusing, in a brief interactive discussion, on the most important safety procedures in the pharmacy, such as verifying patient identity, the five rules for dispensing medication, and handling high-risk medications.
The workshop aimed to raise the awareness of the pharmacists and reduce medication errors and to enhance the understanding of the participants for the safety practices Also it recommended adopting the checklists, the organization of regular training sessions, and encouraging error reporting to achieve continuous improvement.
