On Saturday, 20 December 2025, the Clinical Pharmacy Department at the College of Pharmacy, University of Alkafeel , organized a celebration of (WAAW). The event aimed to raise awareness about the rational use of antibiotics and the importance of combating antimicrobial resistance.
The event took place in the classrooms and gardens and included an awareness lecture on antibiotic resistance, student competitions to enhance their knowledge of proper medication use, and an exhibition in the college gardens showcasing information and educational materials about antibiotics and methods for preventing resistance.
The event yielded positive results : raising the awareness of the students about the responsible use of antibiotics, promoting a culture of public health, and encouraging active student participation in awareness activities, with a recommendation to proceed with such events periodically to promote knowledge and sound health practices among students and the university community.
