The College of Pharmacy at University of Alkafeel organized a scientific awareness course : "The Most Important Diseases Caused by Domestic Animals" on Monday, January 5, 2026. The course was presented by Asst. Lect. Amir Abdul-Hussein Abdul-Abbas, with the participation of faculty members and staff.
The course addressed the most prominent animal diseases, focusing on rabies, one of the most dangerous viral diseases affecting the central nervous system. It explained the methods of transmission and prevention. The course also emphasized the importance of health awareness in reducing the spread of these diseases and their risks to society.
The course recommended strengthening health awareness about animal diseases and adhering to safety and prevention procedures when handling animals. The session recommended enhancing health awareness regarding these diseases, adhering to safety and prevention procedures when handling pets, seeking immediate medical attention at specialized health facilities after animal bites or scratches, and continuing to hold awareness sessions to promote health education in the university.
This activity is part of the efforts the College of Pharmacy at University of Alkafeel shows to raise health awareness among faculty and staff and promote a culture of prevention and safety within the university community.
