A meeting was held on Sunday, 11 January 2026, between members of the Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Safety and Security Committee and the Vice-Chancellor for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Nawal Ayed Al-Mayali, to enhance the laboratory safety system and develop the academic work environment.
The meeting addressed the plan of the Chemical Safety and Security Unit and the mechanisms at the university for its implementation to ensure compliance with standards for safe laboratory work. It also explored ways to achieve quality and accreditation standards in the university laboratories, in accordance with approved regulations and instructions.
Prof. Dr. Nawal Al-Mayali emphasized the importance of implementing safety and prevention measures, developing training programs, and standardizing work procedures in scientific laboratories to protect students and staff and enhance the quality of research and education.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to trace the implementation of the established plan and intensify coordination among relevant parties to support the efforts of the university for a safe and sustainable campus environment.
