Under the patronage of the President of University of Alkafeel , Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, the University Presidency/Center for Lifelong Learning held a scientific lecture : "Developing a Vision for Education in Light of Knowledge Economy and United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development." The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Hamid Khalaf Ahmed, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Executive Director of the Higher Committee for Education Development in Iraq, on Monday, January 19, 2026.

    The event began with welcoming the guest by the University President, then there was a tour of the university : halls , classrooms, and laboratories. During the tour, the guest was briefed on the academic environment and infrastructure, praising the level of development achieved at University of Alkafeel  and emphasizing the pivotal role of the Holy Abbas Shrine in supporting, building, and developing higher education in Iraq.

    The  the speaker addressed several important topics, most notably the importance of developing a modern educational vision that aligns with the requirements of the knowledge economy, the role of universities in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and enhancing the quality of education and linking it to the needs of the labor market and the requirements of comprehensive development.

     The guest emphasized the necessity of integrating institutional efforts to advance the educational system and adopt modern educational strategies that contribute to producing graduates capable of keeping pace with global scientific and technological developments.

    The lecture was attended by the University President, Prof.Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan , the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Nawal Ayed Al-Mayali,  deans of colleges, their assistants, faculty members, and a number of university staff.

This lecture is part of the ongoing efforts University of Alkafeel shows to enhance academic awareness and support scientific and intellectual development in line with national and international visions for educational advancement.
