On Tuesday, 10 February 2026, the Lifelong Learning Center at University of Alkafeel organized a lecture : "Factors Leading to Extremism and Violence." The lecture was delivered by Asst. Prof.Dr. Hussam Ali Hassan Al-Obaidi, Director of the Department of Psychological Guidance and Educational Orientation , to fifth-year pharmacy students. The lecture addressed the concept of extremism versus tolerance, reviewing the motives that lead to violence. It stressed the importance of understanding these motives to prevent violence, promote tolerance and coexistence, and encourage students to join the volunteer team to boost awareness of extremism and violence, especially as they are about to enter the professional sector.
In this regard, the Department of Psychological Guidance and Educational Orientation at the College of Medicine presented a guidance lecture on Wednesday, 11 February 2026 : “ Psychology of Filial Piety from Psychological and Moral Perspective” for new students. The lecture was led by Counsl. Noor Maitham Abbas. The lecture focused on the importance of honoring parents as a moral and human value and explained the psychological dimensions and motives that shape positive behavior towards parents. It also helped students develop positive communication skills and understand the impact of these values on personality formation.
