The Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies , at the College of Medical and Health Technologies , in cooperation with the Department of Psychological Guidance and Educational Orientation , organized a volunteer visit to a nursing home. The visit included a communal Iftar meal for the residents of the home on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, on Monday, 3 March 2026.
This initiative stems from the commitment of the university to fostering social solidarity and promoting social responsibility among its students, as well as providing psychological and moral support to the elderly and cultivating an atmosphere of warmth and compassion among them .The visit witnessed a remarkable interaction from faculty members of the Medical Laboratory Technology Department, who shared breakfast with the residents, emphasizing the importance of building bridges of communication with this venerated d segment of society. The director of the care home expressed his gratitude to University of Alkafeel for its ongoing initiatives and support for the residents.
The university affirms its commitment to continuing to organize such visits regularly and expanding participation to include other departments, thereby strengthening partnerships with care institutions, achieving a positive psychological impact on the elderly, and developing a spirit of initiative and volunteerism among students.
