On Monday, 6 April 2026, the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology at the College of Medical and Health Technologies, University of Alkafeel , held a celebration to mark World Laboratory Day as part of the Second University Sustainability Week. The event aimed to enhance the practical and research skills of the students , encourage them to learn about the latest laboratory equipment and techniques, and help them understand how to conduct scientific tests accurately and safely.
The celebration included an exhibition of laboratory equipment where students provided detailed explanations of the most important devices used in laboratory tests. They also conducted practical demonstrations of some tests in the lab, allowing them to gain firsthand experience and apply their theoretical knowledge. The activity also fostered a spirit of cooperation and initiative among the students and provided them with valuable practical experience that will support their academic and professional careers in the field of medical laboratories.
The event also contributed to developing a spirit of cooperation and initiative among the students. The ceremony concluded with a speech by Prof.Dr. Fadhil Ismail Sharad, Dean of the College, who expressed his delight at the outstanding performance of the students and praised their academic level and practical skills. He emphasized that such activities enhance their academic and research capabilities and solidify the link between theoretical education and practical application in the laboratory.
