The Department of Psychological Guidance and Educational Orientation at University of Alkafeel organized an informative lecture on Monday, 6 April 2026,: "Constructive Criticism and Sincere Advice in Friendships," delivered by Asst.Lect. Kawthar Kadhim Awda.
The lecture addressed the importance of constructive criticism and sincere advice as key foundations for maintaining genuine friendships. This is achieved through evaluating behavior and fostering positive character development while respecting the dignity and feelings of others. The lecturer explained that constructive criticism focuses on the action, not the person, and is offered with kindness , respect, and with suggested solutions. Sincere advice, on the other hand, is based on genuine goodwill and a sincere desire for the well-being of the other person, without causing offense or imposing one's will.
There was also an emphasis on the role of this topic in strengthening mutual trust, reinforcing social bonds, and promoting a culture of conscious dialogue based on understanding and support. This, in turn, positively impacts individuals' mental health and contributes to building mature and balanced friendships.
