On Tuesday, 7 April 2026, the College of Medical and Health Technologies at University of Alkafeel organized a workshop : “Sustainable Development in Health and Medical Technologies” as part of the Sustainability Week activities in the university.
The workshop, presented by Asst.Lect. Zahraa Yahya Jawad, focused on developing and using technology in healthcare in a sustainable manner that ensures the quality of medical services while preserving natural resources, protecting the environment, and achieving social justice.
There was also a discussion on the sustainable environmental practices in the health sector, including reducing medical waste, utilizing green manufacturing, promoting the economic and social sustainability of medical devices, and employing modern technology to improve healthcare. Finally , it emphasized that integrating sustainable development concepts into health and medical technologies is a fundamental step to ensuring the provision of effective and sustainable healthcare for current and future generations.
