The Department of Psychological Guidance and Educational Orientation at Al-Kafeel University held a mourning session in Al-Qamar Hall to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) on Tuesday, 14 April 2026.
The service was attended by the University President, Professor Dr. Nawras Muhammed Shaheed al-Dahan, the Vice-Chancellor for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Nawal Ayed al-Mayali, several deans, faculty members, administrative staff, and a number of university students.
The service began with a recitation of ayats from Glorious Quran by reciter Ali al-Zubaidi from the Institute of the Holy Quran , pertinent to affiliated with the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine. This was followed by a religious lecture delivered by His Eminence Sheikh .Hafiz al-Dujaili, who discussed the life of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) from his upbringing in the Prophet household and his prominent role in spreading knowledge. He established a major school of learning that produced numerous scholars in various religious and humanistic fields.
He also discussed Imam Ali's (peace be upon him) approach to establishing the values of dialogue and intellectual openness, his contributions to building authentic Islamic consciousness, and the circumstances surrounding his martyrdom and the injustice and persecution he endured, emphasizing his exalted position in the conscience of the Muslim community.
Such a gathering is part of the religious activities that the university is keen to hold to enhance religious awareness, instill authentic values and principles in students, and draw lessons and inspiration from the lives of the Imams of the Ahlalbayt (peace be upon them).
