Dr. Mohammed Jaafar Dhiaa Zain, a lecturer at the College of Medicine, University of Alkafeel, received the patent . The researcher was granted a patent from the UK Intellectual Property Office for the design of an innovative radon gas detection device. Such a device is distinguished by its precise design, combining advanced technologies with ease of use. It relies on highly sensitive sensors to accurately measure radon gas levels and displays results instantly, enabling rapid preventative measures. Its small size and portability make it suitable for use in laboratories and various environments.
This innovation is particularly important in mitigating environmental risks, especially in places where children are present : hospitals and schools. It contributes to the early detection of any harmful radon gas accumulation, helping to provide a safe environment and protect children's health in enclosed spaces.
In this context, the researcher expressed his gratitude to the members of the research team who contributed to this work: Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Humaidawi from the University of Kufa, Prof.Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Hadi Al-Humaidawi from Jaber Ibn Hayyan Medical University, and Lect. Dr. Ali Saeed Jassim.
This achievement is a significant addition that reflects the commitment of University of Alkafeel to supporting scientific research and applying it to serve the community, particularly in the fields of public health and environmental protection.
